About the position

Asphalt Green is seeking a Chief People Officer (CPO) to lead its human resources strategies and initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CPO will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive HR strategies that align with the organization's mission and strategic plan. This role is pivotal in supporting Asphalt Green's vision and growth while addressing both opportunities and weaknesses within the organization. The CPO will serve as a champion of Asphalt Green's culture, embodying and promoting the organization's core values, and fostering a sense of responsibility, consistency, and support across the organization and within the communities it serves. The Chief People Officer will work closely with the CEO and the leadership team to shape the future of Asphalt Green. This strategic leader will design and execute top-tier strategies aimed at attracting, retaining, and developing diverse talent, leveraging the Asphalt Green brand to position the organization as a premier destination for talent. Key responsibilities include overseeing performance management processes, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, and implementing strategies to assess and enhance employee satisfaction and retention. In addition to these responsibilities, the CPO will manage employee relations, ensure competitive compensation and benefits, and uphold legal compliance in HR policies and practices. The role also involves creating a high-quality onboarding and offboarding program that emphasizes professional development and smooth transitions for employees. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive human resources strategies that align with Asphalt Green's mission and strategic plan.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to build out the future of Asphalt Green.
  • Design and execute strategies to attract, retain, and develop diverse talent.
  • Oversee performance management processes and foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Implement strategies to assess and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Manage employee relations and ensure competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Uphold legal compliance in HR policies and practices.
  • Create a top-quality onboarding and offboarding program focusing on professional development and smooth employee transitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • At least eight years of experience overseeing the human resources function at an organization of similar or larger size and scope.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organizational goals.

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector or with community-focused organizations.
