About the position

The Chief People Officer will lead and oversee the People Operations functions at Metrolina Greenhouses, ensuring alignment with the company's core values and strategic objectives. This role is pivotal in enhancing employee experiences, engagement, and productivity while ensuring compliance with labor laws. The Chief People Officer will report directly to the Co-CEOs and be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, establish, direct, and administer the People Operations functions including HR, Safety, Training & Development, Total Rewards, and Recruiting.
  • Lead organizational culture initiatives to enhance employee experiences and productivity.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on people matters.
  • Oversee talent programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Develop programs that encourage internal mobility and career development opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and safe work culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws and regulations.
  • Oversee health and wellness programs and leave processes.
  • Deliver meaningful program results that improve the employee experience.
  • Administer human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and performance management.
  • Maximize people systems to enhance manager and employee experiences.
  • Select and develop a high performing team of professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least ten years of human resource management experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Experience in a Seasonal Business preferred.
  • Experience in the Agricultural Industry preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
