About the position

The Chief People Officer at Tatte Bakery & Cafe will lead the human resources strategy to support the company's national expansion while maintaining its core values of community, excellence, and innovation. This role is crucial for developing a people-first culture and ensuring that Tatte's cultural integrity is preserved as operations scale. The Chief People Officer will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for various HR functions including talent management, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with Tatte's national expansion goals.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, policy implementation, and total rewards.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team, providing insights that drive business decisions.
  • Uphold and amplify Tatte's unique culture, embedding values in every practice and policy.
  • Develop and integrate programs to enhance employee engagement, diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion (DEIB).
  • Manage the entire spectrum of talent management, from recruitment to succession planning.
  • Design leadership development initiatives for current and future leaders.
  • Enhance Tatte's rewards and recognition program.
  • Optimize HR operations for scalability and incorporate technology for efficiency.
  • Lead change management efforts and ensure seamless integration of new team members.
  • Stay current on HR trends and innovate employee experience.
  • Foster relationships with local communities and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience at the VP level or higher in culture/HR and learning & development in a high-growth, high-volume multi-unit organization, preferably in hospitality.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to drive business outcomes through people strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with HR analytics and HR software systems.
  • Strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Proven commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, equity & belonging in the work environment.
  • Experience managing and building geographically diversified teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to contribute at both strategic and operational levels.
