About the position

The Chief People Officer (CPO) at the World Resources Institute (WRI) is a dynamic leadership role responsible for overseeing the human resources functions across WRI's global network. The CPO will report directly to the CEO & President and work closely with the Managing Director for Global Delivery. This position focuses on talent acquisition, employee engagement, and the implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies. The CPO will lead a team of HR professionals, fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring WRI remains an employer of choice in the environmental and development sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Centers of Excellence and the Global Network in HR functions.
  • Oversee talent acquisition and employee engagement strategies.
  • Develop and implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies and programs.
  • Build and maintain trust with staff and senior leadership across multiple countries.
  • Foster a thriving and positive workplace culture for a high-performance workforce.
  • Engage and inspire staff and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure WRI's strategic plan commitments are met, including building an inclusive organizational culture.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in human resources leadership roles.
  • Experience in fostering positive workplace environments.
  • Strong change management skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to engage and inspire diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and implementing DEI initiatives.

Nice-to-haves
