The Chief People Officer (CPO) at Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is a pivotal role within the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the organization with a focus on maximizing employee potential in a service-oriented industry. Additionally, the CPO will oversee UTA's labor relations strategy and the management of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in human resources, with at least ten years of progressive experience in core HR areas, including five years in a leadership role and a minimum of three years at a senior level. The CPO will need to demonstrate a solid understanding of HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and labor relations, particularly in a unionized environment. The role requires proficiency in HR Information Systems and HR analytics tools, as well as the ability to design and implement HR initiatives that align with the agency's strategic objectives. The CPO will also serve as UTA's Equal Employment Officer (EEO), ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant employment laws and promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace.
