About the position

The Chief People Officer (CPO) at Columbia Distributing will lead the overall people strategy of the organization, reporting directly to the CEO. This role involves partnering with the Executive Leadership Team to enhance employee experience, engagement, and retention while ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values. The CPO will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, organizational culture, and HR operations, playing a critical role in shaping the future of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a People strategy that aligns with the overall mission and strategy of the organization.
  • Act as a strategic partner to all members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and provide innovative solutions on critical HR issues.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Implement and manage programs for employee learning and development, performance management, and career progression.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture that supports employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Lead and oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Develop and implement people policies and procedures that promote fairness and compliance.
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making in HR operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant business experience in Human Resources.
  • Solid knowledge of all facets of Human Resources.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Unquestionable personal integrity, fairness, and credibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in HR (SPHR, GPHR) are helpful.
  • Experience in a dynamic organizational environment.
