About the position

The Chief People Officer (CPO) is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing the Human Resources strategy aligned with the organization's business plan and growth objectives. This position focuses on key areas such as succession planning, talent management, change management, recruitment, organizational performance management, training and development, and compensation. The CPO will work closely with the executive management team to articulate HR needs and foster a unified culture across multiple sites, ensuring the company is well-positioned for significant growth.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a strategic business partner to the executive business team regarding key organizational and management needs/issues.
  • Develop human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances.
  • Create a unified culture across multiple sites and ensure all sites are represented and recognized through proper communication and events.
  • Create KPIs/metrics to drive better decision making and investment in human capital.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting/onboarding and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of the organization.
  • Manage new employee orientation/onboarding program to support new hires in acclimating to their positions and the company culture.
  • Assist hiring managers in preparing functional and company-wide indoctrination for new employees.
  • Maintain new performance management and review program, ensuring procedures and documentation are followed and reviews are complete and timely.
  • Offer ongoing coaching and assistance to management.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget of human resources operations, including insurance programs and employee incentives.
  • Develop a comprehensive talent planning and training and development plan to support ongoing growth.
  • Update HR policies and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and health/safety regulations.
  • Travel to other plants as needed to support best practices and key initiatives.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of broad-based Human Resources experience with progressive leadership experience in various HR positions.
  • 5 years of experience at the senior executive level.
  • Expertise in employment law, organizational development, organization design, leadership development, succession planning, change management, culture assessment, employee/labor relations, compensation and benefits, and budget management.
  • Prior professional HR experience in manufacturing is required.
  • Applied organizational development and change management experience required.
  • Multi-location experience is necessary.
  • International experience is highly preferred.
