About the position

As a Chief Program Manager for IT Applications at Emerson, you will lead modernization and integration projects for the Test & Measurement (T&M) business unit. This role involves collaborating with various partners to define project scope and objectives, coordinating project implementation, and managing risks to ensure successful delivery. You will work across multiple IT sites and time zones, driving change management and aligning projects with organizational objectives and IT strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead modernization projects in alignment with organizational objectives and IT strategy.
  • Inspire change management activities across all impacted organizations.
  • Collaborate with partners to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies while prioritizing critical systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT professionals, developers, architects, and business customers.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies to the appropriate audience at regular intervals.
  • Identify potential roadblocks, risks, and challenges related to modernization efforts, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of modernization and migration efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent relevant experience in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • Ability to interact in English, both written and verbal.
  • Shown experience as a Project/Program Manager.
  • Validated experience as a Project Manager, leading sophisticated multi-team and site projects, preferably integration and modernization projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools, such as O365, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, JIRA.
  • Experience handling ground-breaking projects preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer management skills.
  • Confidence to lead without authority.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment.
