About the position

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) for the State of Alaska's Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is responsible for overseeing compliance with federal and state laws regarding the reporting, billing, and collection processes of contracts and grants. This role includes supervising professional accountants and technicians, managing substantial federal revenue earnings, and providing technical guidance to ensure effective financial management across various divisions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to reporting, billing, and collection processes of contracts and grants.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to professional accountants and technicians.
• Manage financial operations related to multiple Federal Cooperative Agreement Programs and grants.
• Oversee substantial annual federal revenue earnings exceeding 20 million dollars across various divisions.
• Interact with team members from core divisions and federal partners to address financial challenges.

Requirements

• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliation techniques, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Understanding of grants management laws, regulations, and guidelines, including Executive Orders and OMB circulars.
• Ability to inspire and foster team commitment and cooperation.
