About the position

The Day Publishing is a historic news organization that values its local community and is committed to delivering quality local news to Connecticut and beyond in both print and digital formats. We are currently seeking a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to oversee all current streams of revenue and develop new ones. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both digital and print news, and will be expected to work from our New London, CT office. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and growth of our organization, and the selected candidate will play a key role in shaping our revenue strategies. As the CRO, you will monitor the marketplace and analyze opportunities for revenue growth. You will remain well-connected with customers to ensure that their evolving needs are met, and you will collaborate closely with the publisher, CFO, and senior managers to promote sustainable revenue growth. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues across the marketing, sales, and account management teams. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting a respectful and collaborative workplace through clear communication and appreciation of individual talents in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the marketplace and analyze opportunities.
  • Remain well-connected with customers to ensure that their evolving needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the publisher, CFO, and senior managers on strategies to promote sustainable revenue growth.
  • Identify and resolve issues across the marketing, sales, and account management teams.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years in leadership roles, driving and implementing revenue growth.
  • Proven track record of growing revenue through new-product development and partnerships.
  • Significant experience in general management and P&L supervision.
  • Ability to craft and execute a business strategy effectively.
  • Experience using business metrics to make decisions.
  • Inspirational leadership and hands-on approach.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or related field.
