About the position

The Chief Security Architect at Leidos is responsible for leading cybersecurity initiatives for federal civil customers. This role involves designing and implementing cyber tools and solutions, analyzing alternatives, and coordinating projects to enhance the security infrastructure. The position requires in-depth knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity capabilities and tools, focusing on security operations, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity architecture support.

Responsibilities

  • Research new technical trends, products, and services to improve security efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, and system administrators to meet program goals.
  • Provide management, leadership, and direction to program engineering team leads and contributors.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all Cyber Security projects.
  • Work with partners to identify and document service level requirements in SLA documents.
  • Produce and maintain security architecture documents for operational, system, and technical views.
  • Analyze the security architecture and document recommendations for data protection.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures and decision analysis documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate application and platform upgrades with minimal disruption to IT operations.
  • Produce reports and dashboards based on defined measures and key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Masters degree with 15+ years of experience in IT and/or cyber security.
  • 5+ years of experience managing the implementation and operation of security architecture and tools.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management roles.
  • 5+ years of experience with IT modernization.
  • Understanding of key cyber security tools for consistent deployment and improvement.
  • Experience leading complex security infrastructure consolidation and modernization efforts.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with senior levels within customer organizations.
  • Experience leading high-performing multi-disciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cyber Security Operations.
  • Active CISSP certification preferred.
  • Active DoD/Top Secret Clearance (Interim Top Secret acceptable), or TS/SCI.
