About the position

The Chief Software Officer (CSO), also known as The Code Commander, is a visionary leader responsible for steering the software development strategy of the organization. This role involves leading a team of developers, architecting innovative software solutions, and ensuring that the company's software products are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. The CSO will also collaborate with other executives to integrate software development with the overall business strategy, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the tech teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive software strategy that aligns with business objectives.
  • Lead the design and architecture of software products, ensuring robustness and scalability.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers and developers.
  • Establish and optimize software development processes to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and software trends, bringing new ideas to the table.
  • Ensure all software products meet high standards of security and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other C-level executives and departments to align software development with company goals.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in software development, architecture, and engineering leadership.
  • Proven experience leading and scaling software teams with a track record of delivering successful software products.
  • Ability to develop and implement a software strategy that aligns with business goals.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • Deep understanding of software security best practices.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in Agile, DevOps, or cybersecurity.
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects or speaking at tech conferences.
