About the position

As the Chief Solution Architect at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will serve as a strategic business leader and technical program manager, directly partnering with both internal and external senior leaders. Your primary responsibility will be to effectively lead the shaping, capture, and delivery of multi-million-dollar engagements for the U.S. Government. You will oversee project teams throughout the software delivery life cycle, ensuring that the client’s critical missions are supported through effective software development practices. Your role will encompass delivery leadership, business management, and client management across multiple software development projects or programs. You will provide strategic thought leadership in technical management, software delivery, system solutioning, and client management, driving all aspects of contract management, financial performance, and budget control for existing programs. Additionally, you will be responsible for briefing executive leadership on financial estimates and rough order magnitudes (ROMs) for new development efforts, while also maintaining responsibility for the leadership and development of experienced teams of professionals. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in managing the development of software systems, particularly focusing on modernization efforts utilizing forward-leaning technologies such as cloud computing, DevSecOps automation platforms, and MLOps automation platforms. You will be expected to integrate disparate technologies to address client challenges effectively, manage projects using various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, and lead teams of 25 or more, including subcontractors. Your ability to develop and deliver tailored, complex presentations to senior-level stakeholders will be crucial in illustrating solutions to client problems and driving forward capture efforts. A strong understanding of cybersecurity for classified systems, AI/ML methodologies, and big data architectures will also be essential in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic business leader and technical program manager for U.S. Government engagements.
  • Lead project teams throughout the software delivery life cycle to support critical missions.
  • Provide delivery leadership, business management, and client management for multiple software development projects.
  • Drive all aspects of contract management, financial performance, and budget control of existing programs.
  • Brief executive leadership on financial estimates and ROMs for new development efforts.
  • Maintain responsibility for the leadership and development of experienced teams of professionals.
  • Integrate disparate technologies to address client challenges effectively.
  • Manage projects using various SDLC models, CMMI, SAFe, and Agile methodologies.
  • Develop and deliver tailored presentations to senior-level stakeholders that illustrate solutions to client problems.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in a technical field managing software system development with a focus on modernization efforts.
  • 10+ years of experience with technical solutioning and integrating disparate technologies.
  • 10+ years of experience managing projects using various SDLC models, CMMI, SAFe, and Agile.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud-enabled solutions and architecture development.
  • Experience managing contracts greater than $5 million and leading project teams of 25+.
  • Experience in all phases of the proposal lifecycle.
  • Ability to design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications for geospatial systems.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree.

  • AWS Certification, including Associate or Professional-level Certification.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification.
