As a Chief Systems Engineer - Intel & Cyber at L3Harris, you will play a pivotal role in leading the technical development of RF and SATCOM-based communications systems and infrastructure. This position involves the implementation of projects that focus on the development and fielding of ruggedized and transportable communications solutions. You will be responsible for establishing and executing a long-term technical roadmap that includes innovative strategies to enhance product and infrastructure performance. Your expertise will be crucial in system concept development, design development, testing, and the fielding of operational systems and networks. In this role, you will engage in system architectural definition and development, preparing Critical Design Review (CDR) documentation and other technical documentation that comprise each project's Technical Data Package (TDP) for delivery to customers. You will oversee ground system development and implementation, which includes integrating, testing, delivering, installing, and providing customer/user training and sustaining engineering support. Your work will also involve system design and development within both Linux and Windows environments, as well as the test and characterization of communications systems in a laboratory setting. You will be tasked with the integration and field testing of communication solutions into larger systems (networks) and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse set of customers, both internal and external. Eliciting requirements from customers and other technical community stakeholders will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with developing CONOPS that include system/subsystem-level sequence diagrams, user cases, and user stories. You will also work with configuration management tool sets such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence, supporting Business Area leadership with various ongoing projects and system modeling and innovation efforts. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, and you will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.
