About the position

The Chief Technician at KDC/One is responsible for the manufacturing of batches in compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) according to company procedures. This role involves executing the shade approval process and ensuring that all operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. The Chief Technician will operate all equipment in the manufacturing area, maintain accurate records of raw material inventory, and assist in training lower-level technicians on specific projects as needed. This position is crucial for maintaining the quality and consistency of the products manufactured by KDC/One, which serves a variety of well-known and emerging beauty and personal care brands. In this role, the Chief Technician will be expected to bring batches in process close to shade approval and ensure that all usage logs regarding equipment used in manufacturing are properly filled out and kept up to date. The technician may also be required to clean and sanitize equipment and weigh materials as part of the manufacturing process. A strong understanding of compliance with GMPs, environmental, safety, and quality control procedures is essential for performing job duties effectively. The Chief Technician will also be responsible for performing all responsibilities of a Technician and may be assigned additional tasks as needed. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor and does not have any direct reports. The Chief Technician plays a vital role in the manufacturing department, contributing to the overall success of KDC/One by ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment in the area or department.
  • Record raw material inventory according to kdc/one's internal procedures, i.e. adjustment sheets, bulk weight sheets, etc.
  • Bring batches in process close to shade approval.
  • Assist in training lower classification compounders if necessary.
  • Properly fill out, record, and keep up to date all usage logs regarding equipment used in manufacturing a batch.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and weigh materials as required.
  • Perform all responsibilities of a Technician.
  • Ensure compliance with G.M.P.'s, environmental, safety, and quality control procedures in the performance of job duties.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalency diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of G.M.P.'s, environmental, safety and quality control procedures.
  • Basic organizational and English skills.
  • Good communication, organizational and training skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical and conversion functions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
