About the position

The Chief Technologist at RAYUS Radiology is responsible for providing leadership and management to technical services, ensuring that imaging services are delivered within professional standards. This role involves operating imaging equipment, maintaining positive relationships with referring physicians, and overseeing staff management and operations to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Screens patients before examination for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
  • Performs routine and advanced radiologic procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury with minimal supervision.
  • Explains and prepares patients for procedures, providing support throughout the process.
  • Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Adjusts scan parameters correctly and utilizes dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations.
  • Produces diagnostic images and performs quality control tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains positive work relationships with radiologists and other referring physicians.
  • Remains self-motivated to increase knowledge of the field and new procedures.
  • Maintains and disinfects equipment, ensuring emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Ensures an orderly and clean work area to promote safety for patients and team members.
  • Promotes good customer relations with patients, physicians, and other personnel.
  • Ensures comprehensive knowledge of company policies and procedures for all technologists.
  • Assists in staff planning and hiring processes.
  • Manages overall staffing levels for adequate modality coverage.
  • Monitors and approves timecards.
  • Oversees training of new associates and provides technical expertise.
  • Schedules routine meetings with the Technical Operations Manager.
  • Attends and participates in monthly Chief Tech meetings.
  • Initiates and participates in staff performance evaluations and development plans.
  • Coordinates patient relations to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensures compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and safety.
  • Orders appropriate supplies as necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in radiologic technology and imaging procedures.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and safety regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in staff training and development.
  • Familiarity with inventory control processes.
  • Certification in advanced imaging techniques.
