About the position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for overseeing all technological aspects of the company. The CTO works with Executive Management to attain the strategic goals of the company through a proactive and practical approach. The CTO will report to the President/CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate IT services to be provided in-house and what to outsource.
  • Develop a reasonable budget for the company and operate within the budget with approvals for exceptions.
  • Understand each entity and how they operate to provide strategic guidance to every IT project for each entity/department.
  • Stay up to date with cyber security trends and implement effectively in the businesses.
  • Create/write policies and procedures for the IT department and the organization.
  • Fit culturally within the organization and understand the chain of command.
  • Be empathetic, respectful, and a good leader.
  • Hold the team accountable while being accountable to the organization and employees.
  • Work productively with each department (HR, Legal, Investments, Accounting, NFP's).
  • Manage risk mitigation and compliance for the entire organization.
  • Develop and implement the company's technology strategy, aligning it with business objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on the business.
  • Lead technology procurements and implementation.
  • Oversee the company's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
  • Manage the technology budget and resources effectively.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the company's technology systems.
  • Drive innovation and the development of new products and services.
  • Implement and maintain robust security controls.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive incident response plan.
  • Communicate technology strategies and plans to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field.
  • Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a managerial capacity in information technology.
  • Excellent skills in both oral and written communication.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ten plus years of large project management experience on software procurement and implementation.
  • Ten plus years of risk mitigation experience.
