About the position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at NACS is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of technology initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching, learning, communication, and overall district operations. The CTO will work closely with the Superintendent and various executive, instructional, and operational teams to evaluate existing technology programs, assess the needs of the district, and prepare for future technology implementations. This position requires a visionary leader who can guide the district in leveraging technology to improve educational outcomes and operational efficiency. In this role, the CTO will manage budgets allocated for technology purchases, which include district education and operations funds, grants, and construction projects. The CTO will ensure responsible purchasing practices for all technology-related items and maintain clear records for accountability and auditing purposes. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the technology infrastructure and systems, ensuring stability for local, wide, and regional area networks, while also preparing for future expansions that may integrate other systems beneficial to the district. Additionally, the CTO will be responsible for establishing and maintaining systems for district data management. This includes guiding the standardization of data entry for the student information system, data warehouse, and other district databases to ensure accurate data submission and extraction for district, state, and federal reporting, as well as for strategic planning purposes. The CTO will also oversee the management and maintenance of communication services within the district, such as email, website, and voice communications, utilizing current systems like PowerSchool, Parent Square, Smart Site, Frontline, and Canvas. Training and support for NACS staff in the effective use of technology will be a key responsibility, with the CTO facilitating systems and documentation to enhance technology utilization. Furthermore, the CTO will supervise all personnel within the technology department, managing hiring, supervision, and evaluation processes for team members.

Responsibilities
