About the position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Comerica will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technology strategies and product roadmaps. This position requires collaboration with business unit and technology leaders to leverage technology as a means to enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, ultimately impacting revenue and margins. The CTO will oversee both strategic initiatives and the operational aspects of the organization, ensuring successful execution of technology programs and investments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive an enterprise-wide technology infrastructure strategy incorporating cloud, DevOps, and converged infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with executives to articulate technology vision and drive adoption.
  • Develop a culture of risk-taking and innovation within the organization.
  • Advise the Chief Information Officer on technology adoption and strategy.
  • Define enterprise-wide technology standards and policies.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technology organizations to ensure alignment on technology requirements.
  • Monitor risks related to technology infrastructure and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Create a vendor strategy to nurture partnerships with critical vendors.
  • Advise senior management on emerging technologies relevant to company goals.
  • Determine capital investment parameters for technology initiatives.
  • Partner with technology leaders to develop effective enterprise capabilities.
  • Ensure effective execution of technology management practices for reliability and responsiveness.
  • Direct the design and maintenance of products and platforms supporting the CTO organization.
  • Maintain oversight of technology projects to ensure proper planning and delivery.
  • Partner with teams to advance DevOps methodology and security standards.
  • Monitor industry developments in technology operations and implement relevant tools.
  • Review and oversee vendor and service agreements for technology services.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technology leadership roles, preferably as a CTO or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, DevOps, and infrastructure as a service.
  • Experience in developing and implementing technology strategies and standards.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with executives.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-dollar contracts.
  • Proven track record in risk management and operational excellence.
