Healthcare is transforming, and technology is the enabler to support and deliver products and services to our members in the way they want and need. This is why we "do technology different" here at Blue Cross NC. At our core, we strive to make healthcare better for all. In a world where people have so many options to choose from, we are committed to a people-first culture that is rooted in the kind of growth mindset that ensures the best possible outcomes for our members. With change comes opportunity. We are currently searching for an innovative, execution-minded Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who has mastered the balance between strategy and delivery. This person thrives in the art of the possible. This person will be establishing and achieving the technical strategic direction for the company. We are looking for someone to infuse their knowledge and experience in a highly regulated industry to ensure that BCNC's technical assets and capabilities enable our broader enterprise objectives while “future proofing” our business. Collaboration with business and IT leaders across the insurance company and subsidiaries to optimize our enterprise technology stack, identify/guide integration opportunities, and sharing best practices will be key. Driven by a passion for creating a world-class customer experience, the CTO will drive the technical strategy to accelerate expansion of self-service / digital experience and digital delivery and transformation (portals, websites, messaging, self-service solutions) as well as data-driven innovation to improve our customers' experience, drive operational efficiencies, improve our scalability, and deliver tangible financial value. The CTO will design the company's future state tech stack in alignment with our enterprise strategy and business priorities. They will provide leadership in creating, maintaining, and communicating the architectural vision and direction, and will be responsible for the overall integrity of the enterprise architecture. This includes creating strategic plans and roadmaps for information and technology based on an understanding of the business and its IT needs, delivering technology architecture assessments and design specifications for all initiatives with architectural impacts, and creating and maintaining architectural models. The CTO will also determine specifications, plan, design, and guide the development of business-critical application solutions, establishing best practice information architecture needed to support the consumerization and modernization of healthcare. In partnership with the Corporate Strategy and Transformation office, the CTO will understand and enable strategic business roadmaps and desired outcomes, leading the planning, development, and evolution of the company's IT Strategy ensuring alignment with the enterprise strategy. They will establish consultative and proactive business partnerships to ensure active engagement in planning for emerging business needs and opportunities while providing expertise in technology solutioning. The CTO will review critical technology-dependent initiatives and devise proper integration methods and solutions. The role also involves leading technology innovation to accelerate the time to evaluate, introduce, and operationalize emerging technologies and methods to meet enterprise needs. The CTO will expand new delivery methods and technologies across IT through best practices, training, and collaboration, driving execution of our technology strategy and delivery approach to accelerate expansion of customer-facing self-service / digital capabilities, solutions, and tools. They will partner with key stakeholders to accelerate the pace of innovation and delivery across the enterprise, identifying, evaluating, and operationalizing emerging technologies that enable or accelerate enterprise priorities.
