About the position

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) position is a pivotal role within the district, responsible for overseeing the technological infrastructure and ensuring that all systems are efficient, secure, and innovative. The CTO will lead the development and implementation of technology strategies that align with the district's goals, focusing on enhancing system efficiency and automation. This role requires a strong technical background, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in various IT domains, including troubleshooting, LAN/WAN, network system design, application support, server management, and data security. The CTO will also be responsible for managing large-scale projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget while meeting the district's needs. In addition to technical expertise, the CTO must possess strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, enabling them to address complex challenges effectively. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the CTO will engage with individuals at all levels of the organization, from staff to administration. The ability to drive innovation and lead the district's technological advancement is crucial, as is the proficiency in cloud-based networking and infrastructure management. The CTO will also mentor and foster the growth of team members, creating a collaborative and productive work environment. Physical demands of the role include the ability to bend, lift, squat, crawl, and perform repetitive motions, as well as the capability to climb ladders and work on roofs or ceilings. The position requires the ability to lift up to 60 pounds at least 25% of the time. A valid NJ driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are also necessary for this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience in troubleshooting, LAN/WAN, network system design, application support, server management, and data security.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in large-scale environments.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in cloud-based networking and infrastructure management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members.
