About the position

Do you have a passion for helping children and adolescents with behavioral health diagnoses? We are looking for a dedicated, board-eligible or certified Part-time Child Psychiatrist for our children's Outpatient services located in Malvern, PA. Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services' Community-based Outpatient Services team provides behavioral health services for children, adolescents and young adults, ages 2 to 19, who are diagnosed with depression, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorder, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, bipolar disorder and poor impulse control. We offer individual therapy, as well as family therapy. Individual therapy identifies a child's specific behavioral challenges and develops the use of skills to enhance the individual's strengths through various forms of therapy. Family therapy focuses on improving and enhancing family communication and positive support through parent education and family system therapy. During therapy, parents and caregivers are provided with parenting strategies and techniques that enable them to provide the best support for their children.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule in-office appointments 2 or 3 days/week; 8.5hrs/day with availability as late as 6pm; work hours not to exceed 16-20 hours/week
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 300-375 individuals, fluctuating with admissions and discharges from the program
  • Complete Psychiatric Evaluations, scheduled a maximum of 2 evaluations per day, in 90-minute blocks [60 mins of face-to-face assessment and 30 minutes for typing/dictation]
  • Facilitate Medication Management, scheduled for 20-minute increments back-to-back
  • Engage at least 85% of all scheduled appointments; ensure quality documentation that supports medical complexity codes billed; timely documentation required

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with current valid license in Pennsylvania (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program required
  • Child psychiatry training if treating population 16 years and younger
  • Demonstrate relevant treatment competency through clinical experience, continuing education units and referral letters to support these specific skills
