About the position

The CACFP Specialist at Child Care Resource Network is responsible for monitoring child care providers participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in home-based settings. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, meets grant deliverables, and provides support to child care providers. The position requires effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all grant, agency, and department timelines and proportional outcomes.
  • Conduct monitoring reviews to participating child care homes to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Review and analyze monitoring reviews and claim records for possible fraud.
  • Conduct outreach to potential CACFP participants.
  • Maintain and apply working knowledge of the CACFP Regulations, New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Regulations, Serious Deficiencies, Legally Exempt regulations, and Sponsor Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain and apply working knowledge of Minute Menu/KidKare Program.
  • Enter data and update provider information into the Minute Menu/KidKare system in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide support and technical assistance to CACFP child care providers.
  • Maintain ongoing, professional and accurate communication with other agency departments.
  • Serve as a member of the staff team, attending meetings, agency committees, trainings, and agency events as required.
  • Carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description, in accordance with the agency's team philosophy.

Requirements

  • Three years related work experience; case management a plus.
  • Must be comfortable assessing the needs of providers and providing support.
  • Experience organizing and managing a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency, yet thorough attention to detail and follow through.
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer software.
  • Working knowledge of CACFP, OCFS, and Legally Exempt Rules and Regulations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Willingness to travel within Erie and Niagara Counties.
  • The ability to carry out assignments without direct supervision.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent human relation skills and ability to successfully interact with a diversity of people, including the current predominant linguistic, racial and ethnic populations of Erie and Niagara Counties.
  • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
