The Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) position at Grand Forks AFB is responsible for providing care, supervision, and oversight for children and youth in various programs. Responsibilities

• Accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
• Provides care/supervision and oversight for program participants.
• Assists in preparing age-appropriate activities and supervises children during various activities.
• Helps maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials.
• Executes work in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Assists in planning and conducting activities for program participants.
• Establishes a program environment that promotes positive interactions.
• Participates in conferences with parents and staff.
• Observes program participants for signs of illness, abuse, or neglect and reports as directed.
• Ensures compliance with policies and regulations applicable to AF Child and Youth Programs.

Requirements

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must complete pre-employment checks and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. or more and stand for long periods of time.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate.

• Experience working in a group program for children or youth.
