About the position

As a Behavior Technician at Centria Autism, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with autism by implementing individualized behavior intervention plans. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children and their families, working closely under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The role requires a compassionate and patient individual who is willing to undergo comprehensive training, even if they lack prior experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children with autism to implement individualized behavior intervention plans.
  • Use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
  • Reduce interfering behaviors in children through structured interventions.
  • Collaborate with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to ensure effective treatment plans are followed.
  • Maintain a patient and compassionate demeanor while working with children.
  • Engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting children or objects up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Passionate about helping children with autism.
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification and pass a Tuberculosis test.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Physical ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.) and lift up to 50 pounds.
