About the position
The Child Behavior Support Specialist at Soar Autism Center plays a crucial role in providing personalized, play-based therapy to children on the autism spectrum. This position focuses on utilizing the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) to deliver Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy, fostering meaningful progress for children and their families in a supportive clinic environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized ABA therapy to children aged 2-6 in a clinic setting, ensuring a high standard of care.
- Execute intervention plans developed by skilled BCBAs, following ABA therapy principles.
- Foster strong, supportive relationships with families, regularly communicating progress and goals.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development, staying informed about best practices in ABA therapy.
Requirements
- Preference for candidates pursuing or holding a degree in Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Capability to obtain and maintain RBT certification (Soar provides paid training).
- Previous experience working with children, coupled with a genuine passion for their development.
- Reliable transportation to training and local centers; punctuality is a must.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including frequent sitting, standing, quick movements, lifting up to 50 lbs., and engaging in floor-based play with children.
- Proficiency with digital tools, including computers and tablets.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
