About the position

The After School Assistant Director is responsible for the planning and administration of the Kids' Care program at the College Park Youth Services facility, which serves children attending Hollywood E.S. in College Park, Maryland. This role may also involve acting as the Kids' Care After School Leader in the absence of the Child Care Director.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and administer the Kids' Care program.
  • Serve as the Kids' Care After School Leader when the Child Care Director is unavailable.
  • Ensure compliance with Maryland State Department of Education childcare licensing regulations.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the after-school program.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to acquire one.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting.
  • 45 clock hours of child development training (birth-school age) and 45 clock hours of school age curriculum training.
  • 40 to 45 hours of approved administrative training and 9 hours of communication training, or an AA degree or higher with approved courses in recreation or school-aged training.
  • One year of experience working in a licensed program with school-aged children.
  • Complete 12 clock hours of approved continued training every year.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work hours from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday, and/or up to 25 hours weekly.
  • Transportation to get to/from work and retrieve snacks at the nearby school.
