Child Care Assistant Teacher

About the position

The Child Care Assistant Teacher at Colorful Meadows Childcare is responsible for supporting the Childcare Provider in creating a safe and nurturing environment for young children. This role involves engaging with children, preparing meals, and assisting in daily activities to promote their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. The position emphasizes the importance of building relationships with children and their families while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Providing support for the Childcare Provider.
• Monitoring and supervising the children constantly.
• Assisting the Childcare Provider in maintaining a safe and positive environment.
• Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
• Alerting the Childcare Provider to emergencies.
• Preparing and serving meals and snacks.
• Greeting parents and addressing children by their name.
• Adhering to procedures in preparing a bottle or changing a diaper.
• Assisting with sand, water, or playground activities.
• Assisting in putting children to sleep.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid Training recommended.
• On-the-job training recommended.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must meet state-specific guidelines.
• CPR Certification (Not Required to Assist but is Required to Substitute!).
• Willing to further their education in Early Childhood Education (ECE).

Nice-to-haves
