About the position
The Child Care Worker (CCW) at Center For Positive Changes (CFPC) plays a crucial role in providing care and supervision to residents in a therapeutic home setting. This position is focused on creating a strength-based, family-friendly environment while ensuring compliance with various regulations and policies. The CCW will work under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and is expected to demonstrate high ethical standards and a commitment to positively impacting the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the STRTP facility operates as a strength-based family-friendly environment.
- Provide care and supervision to residents in the therapeutic home setting.
- Comply with CFPC policy, Title 22, CARF, and Community Licensing regulations.
- Support the emotional and physical well-being of residents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (if hired after January 1, 2017) or valid Child Development Teaching Permit, Alcohol Counselor Certificate, or Drug Counselor Certificate.
- Completed 12-semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster and Kinship Care Education or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working at STRTP or similar population.
- At least 100 hours of experience working with youth as a mentor, athletic coach, teacher, vocational coach, tutor, counselor, or other relevant experience.
- Relevant life experience in child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice systems.
