Child Development Program Assistant

About the position

The Child Development Program Assistant position at Minot AFB is designed to provide specialized developmental care and instruction for children in the Child Development Center. The role involves assisting in the design and implementation of activity plans, promoting child growth, and ensuring the physical and emotional needs of children are met. The assistant will also take on supervisory responsibilities in the absence of higher management and engage in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assists in designing, implementing, and reviewing activity plans.
• Assists in developing programs that promote the growth of each child in the group.
• Observes and evaluates children's development levels and maintains a written record of progress.
• Acts as building supervisor in the absence of the Director, Operations Manager, or higher graded employees.
• Seeks ongoing professional development and regularly participates in staff meetings and workshops to improve skills.
• Ensures the physical and emotional needs of children are assessed and met.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Child Development regulations, procedures, and processes.
• Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with children.
• Ability to develop and carry out creative and innovative activity plans and special program plans.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to gather, maintain, and compile pertinent data.
• Ability to adjust work operations to meet emergency, changing program or production requirements.
• Ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement.
