About the position

Nexus-Kindred Family Healing is seeking a dedicated Child-Focused Adoption Recruiter to join our team in the St. Cloud area. This role is pivotal in connecting youth who are waiting for permanent homes with families who wish to adopt. The recruiter will implement and coordinate effective recruitment, matching, and support services for a caseload of 12-15 youth in active recruitment status. Utilizing an evidence-based child-focused recruitment model, the recruiter will identify legally permanent resources for youth, ensuring that each child receives the attention and support they need throughout the adoption process. In this position, the recruiter will process child referrals, gathering and providing essential information regarding the adoption process. Building trusting relationships with child referrals is crucial, as it allows for better assessment of their readiness for adoption, identification of any special needs, and support throughout the adoption journey. The recruiter will also create and implement a marketing plan for Nexus-Kindred/Wendy's Wonderful Kids, aimed at developing and nurturing adoption referral sources while promoting the agency within surrounding communities and resources. Additionally, the recruiter will build a network involving the child's treatment team, significant adults, and family members to inform recruitment activities and establish a robust support system for successful adoptions. Developing a comprehensive recruitment plan and conducting diligent searches for potential adoptive families will be key responsibilities in this role, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to find a loving and permanent home.

Responsibilities

  • Process child referrals, gathering and providing helpful information regarding the adoption process.
  • Build a trusting relationship with child referrals to assess their readiness for adoption and address any special needs.
  • Create and implement a marketing plan for Nexus-Kindred/Wendy's Wonderful Kids to develop and nurture adoption referral sources.
  • Build a network of the child's treatment team, significant adults, and family members to inform recruitment activities.
  • Develop a recruitment plan and conduct a diligent search for potential adoptive families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Human Services.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in related human services youth and family community-based case work required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of child welfare experience with an emphasis in foster care adoption preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required, meeting state regulating agency and Corporate driving requirements.
  • Proven proficiency with various computer applications, including Microsoft Office products.
