About the position

The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking a Child Protective Services (CPS) Research Analyst to join the Bureau of Safety and Wellbeing (BSWB) within the Division of Safety and Permanence. This role is pivotal in leading data initiatives that support the agency's mission to enhance the safety and well-being of children and families in Wisconsin. The CPS Research Analyst will be responsible for creating comprehensive data reports and conducting both simple and advanced statistical analyses. The findings from these analyses will be disseminated to program and policy staff, ensuring that they have access to accurate and up-to-date information regarding program performance. In this collaborative role, the CPS Research Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including other units within the Department, county human services agencies, and the public. The analyst will formulate research questions and set the research agenda, acting as the lead data expert in measuring key outcomes for children involved in child welfare. This position will also provide essential consultation to BSWB and Division leadership on selecting and constructing measures of program outcomes, thereby influencing policy and programmatic decisions. The position offers the potential for hybrid work arrangements, allowing for up to 90% remote work depending on the employee's preferences and the needs of the work unit. However, employees may need to report to DCF office locations on short notice, particularly for onboarding and orientation.
