About the position

The Child Support Agent I position is responsible for providing mandated child support services to both Public Assistance and Non-Public Assistance recipients in accordance with federal and state regulations. The role involves initial case intake, client interviews, and maintaining an active caseload while conducting necessary research and updates in the ACTS system.

Responsibilities

• Provide mandated child support services to Public Assistance and Non-Public Assistance recipients.
• Conduct initial case intake and client interviews.
• Implement data for Non-Public Assistance applicants and referrals from Medicaid applicants.
• Maintain the intake caseload and perform locate research.
• Conduct child paternity research and assist with DNA testing if necessary.
• Update the ACTS system with name changes, address changes, and new employment information.
• Work on triggers sent from Medicaid to Child Support and complete trigger error reports.
• Complete Foster Care referrals for case intake and manage Interstate Packets from the Central Case Registry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with three years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work; or an associate degree with two years of experience; or a four-year degree with six months of experience.
• Knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement Program and applicable legal procedures.
• Ability to interview individuals and investigate cases.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and summarization skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and relevant authorities.

Nice-to-haves
