About the position

The Child Welfare Information System Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the modernization planning of the Social Services Information System (SSIS) to ensure compliance with federal Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) requirements. This role involves supervising a team of CCWIS Coordinators, managing product teams, and representing SSIS in agency-wide modernization efforts. The position plays a critical role in developing and implementing systems modernization across social service programs provided by county and tribal agencies, ensuring alignment with state and federal reporting requirements and building relationships with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) Coordinators.
  • Supervise the modernization planning of the Social Services Information System (SSIS) to ensure compliance with federal Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) requirements.
  • Oversee product teams and manage the overall strategy, development, and delivery of the products within the SSIS modernization effort.
  • Represent SSIS and CCWIS modernization in agency-wide systems modernization efforts.
  • Assure alignment across all Service Delivery Transformation efforts.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including roles such as supervisor, lead worker, team lead, or project lead.
  • Four (4) years of advanced professional work experience in management or coordination of projects related to information systems or data management in a governmental organization.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Professional experience working in a county, tribal, or federal human services agency or expertise in applying principles, tools, and roles of a Product and Agile methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with federal requirements for Comprehensive Child Welfare Information Systems (CCWIS).
  • General understanding of public sector budgeting and the legislative process.
  • Experience with modernization of legacy systems.
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
