About the position

The Childcare Associate at The Bay Club Company is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and clean environment for children aged six weeks to twelve years. This role involves caring for children, organizing age-appropriate activities, and ensuring that all safety and cleanliness standards are met. The position requires active participation in the childcare program and effective communication with parents and children.

Responsibilities

  • Care for children ages six weeks through twelve years.
  • Provide a safe, clean environment including sanitizing toys and play areas, checking and changing diapers, picking up toys, and wiping down tables and counters.
  • Ensure the entire childcare space is supervised and that every zone with a child is staffed.
  • Complete all items on the opening and closing operations checklists.
  • Greet parents and children with a smile; invite children to join activities.
  • Ensure interaction with children at all times, focusing on older, shy, and/or bored children; comfort and assist crying children.
  • Organize and implement age-appropriate activities such as craft time and story time.
  • Treat children with responsive respectfulness, coaching rather than scolding; discuss behavior tactfully and out of range of the child's hearing.
  • Be present on the floor and offer assistance as necessary.
  • Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in events, programs, meetings, and training.
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow-through.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience caring for children in a daycare or babysitting environment.
  • Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities.
  • Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player.
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and willing to acquire new skills.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Computer literate.
  • CPR certification required.
