About the position

The Childcare Coordinator at National Fitness Center is responsible for overseeing children's activities and programs within the club and the community. This role includes managing programs such as Kids in Motion, childcare services, and summer camps, while also assisting with swim lessons and team management. The coordinator will ensure smooth operations, exceptional customer service, and effective team management, including hiring, training, and scheduling staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Area Activities Manager with overseeing children's activities and programs.
• Directly supervise the Childcare Department, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
• Provide monthly schedules for the CC/KIM team and manage shift coverage.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and coach team members to ensure quality service.
• Prepare reports for the Area Activities Manager and conduct team meetings.
• Maintain communication with directors and supervisors at club locations.
• Resolve member and team member issues by researching policies and procedures.
• Cross-train in all areas of the club and work effectively with other department heads.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a health, fitness, recreation, or club environment.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong service orientation and desire to deliver an outstanding member experience.
• Above average computer skills, including familiarity with Word, Excel, and Publisher.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in child development preferred.
• Experience with multi-unit/multi-store customer service.
• College degree a plus.
