About The Position

The child care provider's primary function is to create a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment for children, fostering their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with parents to support the child's growth and well-being.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) preferred.
  • Competency in working with children.
  • Ability to assume all classroom responsibilities.
  • Ability to nurture children and plan age-appropriate activities.
  • Ability to interact professionally with parents and work cooperatively with other teachers.
  • Six months experience working with young children; two years preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in early childhood education settings.
  • Additional certifications in child development or education.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding staff, children, and their families.
  • Be punctual and consistent in attendance.
  • Assist with classroom records as needed.
  • Dress professionally according to the dress code policy.
  • Reflect the school's philosophy to parents and the community.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork in developing skills and assisting as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent events, and training, documenting at least 24 hours of training per year.
  • Ensure compliance with minimum standards for a healthy and safe environment for children.
  • Follow policies set by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the Hays Early Learning Centers.
