About the position

The Childcare Provider at Auburn YMCA is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of quality enrichment programs for school-aged children. This part-time role focuses on ensuring a safe, healthy, and fun environment for children while promoting positive relationships and effective communication with staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily School Age Child Care (SACC) activities in accordance with YMCA policies.
• Implement and actively participate in all activities for children.
• Observe and follow YMCA School Aged Child Care program guidelines and regulations set by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
• Act as a positive role model for children, using appropriate speech, actions, and attire.
• Provide a safe, healthy, moral, and fun environment for all children.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect, assessing and striving to meet their needs.
• Responsible for quality program operation in the absence of the Director.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and program participants, addressing concerns as necessary.
• Assist in maintaining clear, concise daily records and conduct monthly fire drills and safety checks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with children.
• Spanish language proficiency.
• Childcare Teaching Certification.
• Valid Driver's License.
