About the position

Kidcreate Studio - Ashburn is seeking a dynamic part-time Children's Art & Science Teacher to engage children aged 18 months to 12 years in creative art and science programs. The role involves teaching various classes, camps, and after-school programs, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all students. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and the ability to connect with children and families, fostering a love for creativity and exploration.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the mission, philosophy, and core values of the studio.
• Planning, preparing, and teaching an approved curriculum.
• Teaching in-studio and after-school programs.
• Ensuring the safety of children at all times and maintaining a healthy classroom.
• Actively engaging and interacting with all children during class hours.
• Taking attendance and maintaining records.
• Being independent, reliable, and dependable.
• Maintaining sanitation by cleaning and organizing the classroom.

Requirements

• Experience working with children between 18 months to 12 years of age.
• Physically able to participate in activities with children.
• Positive attitude and high energy enthusiasm.
• Experience working in after-school programs is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of child behavior and learning.
• Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
• Must be able to drive 20 or more miles throughout Arlington and Fairfax County for after-school programs.
• Availability on Tuesday-Thursday afternoons between 2-6 pm.
