About the position

The KidStrong Children's Coach is responsible for coaching and mentoring children aged 12 months to 11 years, focusing on their brain, physical, and character development through a structured curriculum. This part-time role requires engaging with both children and their parents, ensuring a fun and motivational environment while maintaining class schedules and cleanliness of the facility. The position offers flexibility in scheduling and opportunities for advancement within a growing organization dedicated to building stronger, smarter, and more athletic kids.

Responsibilities

  • Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups ranging from 12 months to 11 years old.
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team.
  • Ensure classes start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum.
  • Greet students and their parents/guardians individually prior to and at the beginning of class.
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class.
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors.
  • Effectively use the KS Coach's App to record class data and provide records of data for parents.
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers.
  • Complete training through FranConnect as required by the HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Work in a physically intensive environment, moving through class and lifting equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of a class.
  • Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next month's curriculum.
  • Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Academy classes during school breaks.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable.
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred.
  • Prior experience speaking to and educating parents on the KidStrong curriculum.
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics.
  • CPR certified.
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who gets the job done.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus but not required.
