About the position
The Children's Librarian at the Allen County Public Library (ACPL) is a full-time role focused on enriching the community through lifelong learning and discovery. This position involves leading engaging storytimes, developing interactive programs, and connecting with families to inspire a love for reading in young minds. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and play a key role in delivering excellent customer service to the residents of Allen County.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging storytimes for children.
- Develop fun and interactive programs for young readers.
- Connect with families in the community to promote library services.
- Provide excellent customer service to library patrons.
- Assist in library operations and support the mission of ACPL.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Two years of library operations experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Completion of nine credit hours of specific library science courses or commitment to complete them within three years of starting the position.
- Must earn 50 Library Education Units (LEU) within five years after meeting initial requirements.
