About the position
The Children's Residential Counselor position at AMHC's Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit involves providing 24/7 emergency support and stabilization services to youth and families in crisis. Responsibilities
- Identify and develop collaborative plans that include client and guardian goals.
- Provide 24-hour supervision and supportive counseling during family or psychiatric crises.
- Educate clients in decision-making, problem-solving, and coping skills.
- Collaborate with other services to create aftercare plans.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and 4 years of life/work experience required.
- Associate degree and 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and work evenings and weekends as needed.
