About the position

The Children's Theater Stage Manager at Salem YMCA is responsible for producing youth musicals, plays, and live shows, fostering a love of theater in children and youth. This role involves collaboration with the production team, assisting with rehearsals, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for young performers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the production team to produce youth musicals, plays, and live shows.
• Assist with rehearsals and take notes of script changes.
• Manage sound and lighting for each scene during productions.
• Create a safe and welcoming rehearsal space for young performers.
• Support the producer/director in guiding young performers through their productions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or relevant experience in Theater Production preferred.
• At least one year of experience working with children, preferably in arts programming.
• Understanding of theater education and child management techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience participating in or leading theater productions.
