About the position
The Building Substitute position at China Grove Elementary School is essential for maintaining a stable and positive learning environment in the absence of regular classroom teachers. This role involves daily on-site work at a designated school, providing instructional support and classroom management to ensure continuity in education. Building Substitutes will have the opportunity to engage with students and staff, fostering relationships within the school community while adapting to various educational roles as needed.
Responsibilities
- Providing instruction and managing the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Reporting to the school office at the beginning of the day to receive lesson plans and schedules.
- Implementing lesson plans while maintaining student engagement.
- Supervising students in various settings such as classrooms, assemblies, and lunchrooms.
- Maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
- Collaborating with school staff to support students' learning experiences.
- Following all school and district policies and procedures.
- For long-term assignments, developing lesson plans, grading assignments, and participating in school activities may be required.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED
- At least 21 years of age
