About the position

RAND Corporation is seeking an international/defense researcher with a deep expertise in China. The role involves conducting comprehensive research and analysis on China's economy, its economic policies, and their implications on global economic trends. The successful candidate will need to understand China's economic structure, business environment, industrial base, and policy-making processes, while also demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on China's economy and economic policies.
  • Analyze implications of China's economic trends on global economic conditions.
  • Develop models to predict future economic scenarios and trends in China.
  • Utilize innovative methodological approaches to research.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in international relations, political science, public policy, or a related discipline; or a Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree with 20 years of experience.
  • 1 to 5 years of post-graduate experience in research, either in academic or non-academic settings.
  • Demonstrated research skills and a strong interest in empirical analyses related to public policy.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, both written and spoken, is highly desirable.
