About the position

The Chinese Victim Services Coordinator is responsible for providing support and resources to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This role involves crisis intervention, advocacy, and assistance through the justice system, while also conducting outreach and educational workshops within the community. The position is supervised by the Director of Family Services & Quality Assurance and requires a strong understanding of the Chinese immigrant community.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, resources, materials, and referrals to survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
• Offer accompaniment and companion services to clients.
• Conduct crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Manage hotline services and provide individual counseling and support groups.
• Identify safe housing options and assist with transitional housing as needed.
• Support clients through the criminal or civil justice system as an advocate.
• Recruit program volunteers and conduct outreach activities.
• Create educational and promotional materials as needed.
• Conduct educational workshops for community members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, or a related human service field.
• 1+ years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault and their families is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Chinese immigrant community and bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is a must.
• Valid driver's license and access to an insured and registered vehicle.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in public speaking and group facilitation is a plus.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams in diverse settings.
• Experience in working with Microsoft Office suites and the Internet.
