About the position

The Chiropractic Technician position at Duly Health and Care in Glen Ellyn, IL, is a part-time role within the Chiropractic Care department. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and support in a clinical environment. The Chiropractic Technician will work closely with Chiropractors to ensure that patients receive the necessary care and guidance throughout their treatment journey. The role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized clinic, as well as a focus on patient satisfaction and therapist productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The position involves a variety of responsibilities, including patient interaction, assisting with therapeutic modalities, and ensuring the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will be expected to work part-time hours, including two evenings until 6:30 or 7:00 PM, and will be part of a team that is dedicated to exceeding expectations in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Notify doctor when the follow-up patient has arrived and check the patient's chart for any supportive therapies.
  • Guide the patient to their respective supportive therapies and set them up for their treatment.
  • Transition patients from supportive therapies to the treatment room or vice versa.
  • Monitor the arrival screen and be ready to start patients every 15 minutes.
  • Interact with patients and inquire about how they are feeling during their visit.
  • Maintain professionalism in conversations within the clinic.
  • Ensure the clinic/office is clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Check on patients immediately if a timer goes off during their treatment.
  • Provide patient care, support, and guidance as needed.
  • Execute plans of care under the guidance of PT/OT/Chiropractic providers.
  • Assist with the setup and delivery of modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and hot/cold packs.
  • Utilize appropriate educational techniques, including demonstration and cueing, to ensure patient understanding of exercises.
  • Monitor patient safety and response to exercise intensity during treatments.
  • Manage clinic flow by monitoring patient arrivals and ensuring timely starts for scheduled appointments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including waiting areas, exam rooms, and all equipment.
  • Order supplies to keep the clinic stocked under the direction of the Manager.

Requirements

  • CPR certification required (certification offered through Duly Health and Care).
  • High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of common medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Understanding of principles, contraindications, and precautions in the use of therapy modalities.
  • Ability to identify proper patient setup on each piece of equipment and adjust as necessary.
  • Ability to identify planes of movement and demonstrate proper exercise positioning.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through on tasks.
  • Problem-solving, lateral thinking, and reasoning skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
