About the position

The Chief Chiropractic Services position at the Tennessee Valley Health System (TVHS) involves providing comprehensive chiropractic care and oversight within the VA TVHS main campuses and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The role emphasizes non-operative, non-pharmacological treatment and management of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, while collaborating with various therapeutic specialty services. The incumbent is responsible for patient care, clinical knowledge, and the implementation of educational programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and effective patient care for health promotion, illness prevention, disease treatment, and end-of-life care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of biomedical, clinical, and social sciences in patient care and education.
  • Utilize scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members through effective communication.
  • Commit to continuous professional development, ethical practice, and sensitivity to diversity in patient care.
  • Implement and oversee a Chiropractic Training Program through the Whole Health Service Line.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited institution.
  • Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.
  • Minimum of 4 years of chiropractic practice or completion of a 3-year full-time post-graduate residency program.
  • Demonstrated high level of professional attainment in chiropractic care and education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in clinical research and program development.
  • Board certification in a chiropractic specialty.
  • Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
