About the position

Chokaico Craft Chocolate is seeking an energetic and motivated Chocolate Maker / Sales Associate to join our small bean-to-bar chocolate factory and retail store. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the shop runs efficiently, maintains a welcoming atmosphere, and provides exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will receive training in the chocolate-making process and will engage with customers while promoting our artisanal chocolate products.

Responsibilities

• Sort cacao beans and roast them as needed.
• Make chocolate bars and truffles.
• Package chocolate bars and truffles for sale and shipping.
• Run errands for supplies and deliver orders to the post office.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and production area.
• Educate customers about the bean-to-bar process and product offerings.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Serve chocolate drinks and desserts, making recommendations for products.
• Participate in product development efforts, including creating new flavor combinations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of or passion for artisanal chocolate and the bean-to-bar process.
• Proven experience in kitchen and retail environments preferred.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, or moving objects of at least 25 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous specialty coffee, craft food, or retail experience is a plus.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
