About the position

The Christmas Driver (Seasonal) position at The Salvation Army involves driving vans or trucks to transport donations and bell ringers for the Christmas Angel Tree program and Kettle program. The role is essential for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of gifts and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicles used. This is a temporary, full-time position that requires effective communication and organizational skills to manage routes efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Drive vans to transport bell ringers to kettle work sites and return them to designated locations.
• Drive vans or trucks to pick up gifts and deliver them to the Christmas warehouse or Corps.
• Organize pick-up schedules to ensure timely arrivals at destinations.
• Drive to various locations including homes, agencies, and churches to collect gifts and stockings for delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck and/or van, both inside and outside.
• Assist with janitorial and general clean-up work at the Corps or warehouse as needed.
• Help with traffic routing during Christmas Angel Tree distribution events.
• Set up and disassemble Christmas display items such as trees and tables.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years driving experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission and organizational structure.
• Ability to organize routes efficiently to save time and fuel.
• Effective communication skills in English.

• Experience in driving larger vehicles or trucks.
